About The Retreat at Church Ranch
We are a retirement care home in Westminster, CO. Our facility is a forty-seven apartment assisted-living community licensed for a total of fifty-five residents. It sits in a newly renovated building in the Denver/Boulder corridor at 10190 Wadsworth Blvd.
It’s graced with a beautiful courtyard and spacious garden area that has been designated as a Monarch butterfly waystation. It offers a wonderful walking and therapeutic area.
The Retreat at Church Ranch has been in existence since 1998. In March of 2014, Robin and Cindy Avery became the sole owners when they executed an equity swap with the majority stakeholders and obtained a loan to buy out all the partners.
Cindy has been involved in the operational side of the retreat since 2005. As the administrator, she helped turn a poorly performing community into the best in its class. Today, Robin and Cindy have over half a century of combined experience caring for the elderly.
Our care home primarily serves the communities of Arvada, Westminster, Broomfield, and Boulder. We have also attracted residents from all around Denver and other states who move to Colorado to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

One aspect that makes us second to none is that we consistently make residents happy. It’s often said that happiness is health, and in that regard, our residents are very healthy. In addition, we care about the happiness of our team.
What also sets us apart is that we offer a holistic approach to home care as we understand that the body ages faster than our souls. Therefore our carers work diligently day in and day out to meet the personal, spiritual, social, and meaningful fulfillment of our residents.
As a result, if a prospective client looks at the competition and compares them to us, we win almost every time due to our happier, more competent, and more aspirational vibe.
In our efforts to meet all of our resident’s needs, we’ve tracked performance data for years, and our record consists of a son who visited forty-four communities before picking us. It’s success stories like this one that make us feel incredibly proud.
One of our most significant achievements has been receiving recognition from the NIC to deliver high-quality care to our residents. For many years, the NIC has conducted a quarterly survey of all the large (eighteen plus beds) assisted living communities in the Denver market. We are consistently number one in the highest occupancy, reflecting our popularity.
Our dream for the future is to get even better while keeping residents and staff happy (healthy). In this endeavor, we always maintain a continuous improvement program and employ the Jack Benny theory, who continued celebrating his thirty-ninth birthday until his death at eighty.
